Step by step

How to brew

1

Fill the base

Fill the bottom chamber with hot water up to just below the safety valve. Starting with hot water avoids a metallic, over-cooked taste.

2

Add the coffee

Fill the funnel basket with fine-medium grounds and level it off. Do not tamp - just a gentle level so steam can pass evenly.

3

Assemble & heat

Screw the top on and place over medium-low heat with the lid open. Low and slow gives sweeter, more balanced coffee.

4

Pull it early

When you hear a gurgle and the flow turns pale, remove from heat and cool the base with a damp cloth to stop extraction. Stir and serve.
